Hello, my employer that I have been working for for ten years as a labourer at a mattress factory has been cutting my hours and shifts where I go a week without work. Hello there, My employer wants to forcefully use employee vacation days instead of paying for the days closed during the shutdown for hydro maintenance. They do give notice ahead of shutdown atleast a month before. Please advise me if thats allowed or the employer has to pay as we are promised certain hours of work per week. Good afternoon, I worked for a BC company for almost 5 years, got terminated last week without any notice. Although the reason is claimed as organization restructure, I was assigned a lot of works recently that required overtime working in the whole weekend and extra hours in workday, resulting fatigue and partial hearing loss. Given my physical condition and age (almost 50 yo), do you think the 6 month pay in the severance package is fair? Do I need the review of severance package? Any suggestions for affordable lawyers?
