Hello, my employer that I have been working for for ten years as a labourer at a mattress factory has been cutting my hours and shifts where I go a week without work. I want to know if there is a plan in place where I can get paid and if my employer lays me off. I want to know what my options are and my rights. Thank you

Your employer generally cannot unilaterally cut your hours and this may in fact be a termination by your employer. Further if you are laid-off, depending on your type of employment and your contract you this may also constitute a termination. What your entitlement is in the event of a termination is dependent on your contract and would require a review of your contract.
