I am interested in resigning before my pension matures. The pension fund will allow this but requires that 80% of the pension value be held in a LIRA. I do not remember ever signing anything that stated this was a consequence of terminating the pension early. Is this something that the pension fund is legally allowed to do rather than provide the full value in cash? Can an employer refuse working from home request with a doctors note?I am looking to voluntarily quit my job to take care of my 18 month old baby. My mother was taking care of the baby before, but she is not feeling well anymore and is unable to take care of the baby. We also applied to multiple daycare centers but are still on the waitlist (it has been more than a year since we have applied). We looked at home daycares, but none are licensed around the area and didn't seem safe. Would I be able to receive EI benefits if I quit to take care of my baby. How would I go about doing this to receive the EI benefits and not be denied? What should I say to my company? And what should I do before applying for the EI benefits to avoid any denials? I live in Ontario.I have been working for a school board for 25 years and have been in my current role for 10. The manager is shuffling employees at my level into other portfolios which have different collective agreements and each area has a different levels of technical expertise that is required. Of all the portfolios my current has been very distinct and different from all other areas. I use technology but not to run complicated reports because the system does not allow for the portfolio I am in. My manager has recently advised me that she is moving me to another area where there is no support as the administrators doing the work have left including an assistant that up and resigned. My concerns are there is no support in this new role as all admins have left the unit. Also, I don’t understand how she chose who was leaving from our current unit. There are 2 of us currently, I am more senior by about 10 Years. My coworker is much more technical and has also worked with collective agreements that are more in line with this area that I am assigned to. In addition, I have recently gone through a serious medical condition for which I am still recovering and trying to find the root cause. I was off November 2924 and returned to work April 2025. Can the manager just pick anyone she wants to change portfolio? I am non unionized but would a more senior not be given priority? I feel this is a set up for failure which I am not up more emotionally nor physically. Do I have any rights?I was out on medical leave (on EI) the company iI work for (Been here 7 yrs) gave out a bonus for them being in business for 60 yrs to all the employees, I did not recieve this bonus and was wondering if I'm entitled to recieve it ? I've been back to work 3 weeks Monday Previous Next Page 94 of 1630
