I work for the federal government for just over a year then went off on maternity and parental leave. I did not return and took a 2 year leave without paying due to not securing a daycare spot near me. That being said now that my child is starting school this year, if I am unable to return and they refuse to allow me to take another leave without pay will I need to pay back my parental leave as well as all my top up? My husband works in film so therefore I will be responsible for pickup and drop off at all times and it may not be feasible to go back to work.

If you are unable to return to work, you will not have to pay back your parental leave pay/top up.
