Ask your question and an employment lawyer in Ontario, BC or Alberta will answer in minutes
I work for a UK-based company who hires an Employer-On-Record (EOR) in Canada. I work in BC. They are going through a process to switch EOR. With this, we are being asked to resign from our current one and sign a new employment contract with the new one.
Among other things, the new contract reduces the notice period from 4 weeks to 2. Is this allowed?
Thank you for your inquiry. We will have to review the specific terms of each employment agreement. It is important that you do not sign anything prior to having the contract reviewed. Please contact us at your earliest convenience to schedule a formal consultation.
