I work as a mid-level PM at a B2B software company. My contract has a 6-month post-employment non-compete covering "any business similar to or competitive with" the company. I want to build a tool that serves the same industry but is a different product category from what my employer sells (though they could potentially build it), and I've not worked on anything similar to what I want to build. How enforceable is this in BC, Canada? Is the clause too broad to hold up?
