I am a software engineer and have informed my company that I have a medical issue that will possibly hinder my performance some 2 months ago. I have provided them with a note from my doctor (a BC general practitioner) stating which accomodations I need in order to be able to perform at my usual level (just starting at 11 instead of 9 as my illness has a diurnal cycle). I haven't even used those acommodations due to the fear of our client, with whom I work with on a daily basis, because I was afraid they would complain to the company. The client has given a negative review last week based solely on my comunication style, my technical skills were not reviewed in a negative manner. I have records of all the written communications, and I (subjectively) can claim that my communication always courteous and professional. My fear is that I am being dicriminated by the client, who was aware that I have some medical stuff going on, and that if I'm taken of this particular project I will soon be out of work because the company is not doing well and there are no other projects that the company could place me on. What are my rights in this situation. My condition has significantly worsened since that review due to increased stress

You have the right to be accommodated up to the point of undue hardship, meaning they must take all reasonable steps to remove barriers in the workplace. Please contact our office for a consultation to discuss your matter further.
