I had a restaurant i was working with for about 6 months let me go because a new kitchen manager that was clearly on drugs and said I lost a charger for the tablet for orders when I wasn't even there... So I was owed $960ish dollars, I was NOT paid this and then the business closed down right after so I didn't know what to do. What should or could I have done in that situation?

This is a concerning sequence of events as it relates to the deductions made to your wages for the lost charger. We would also want to assess whether you received your lawful termination entitlements in the circumstances.

When faced with workplace issues like this, we strongly encourage you to contact us right away when the situation arises. By setting up a consultation and speaking with one of our employment lawyers, we can fully review your circumstances and provide you with guidance and advice regarding your workplace rights. Although some time may have passed since the above events, we encourage you to give us a call so we can assess what legal recourse may be available.
