I do not have an employee contract and I believe my boss is going to fire me. Ive just returned from maternity leave I have worked for the company for 6.75 years. What notice and severance am I entitled to. Will I be able to claim EI? Is this consider wrongful dismissal

Thank you for your question. Your severance will be based on, among other things, your age, your position, and your years of severance. To find out what your severance entitlements could be, please visit www.severancepaycalculator.com.

Unfortunately, your recent maternity leave may impact your eligibility for EI if the termination takes place soon after your return. This should be discussed with Service Canada.

It is strongly recommended that you reach out to us if and when you receive your severance package for a consultation.
