I've been laid off by Shopify. I'm concerned about my severace package. My salary was $170k. They've offered me $42k to sign after 4 yrs. of service. My understanding is Shopify package is on the low end. Should I move forward with hirering a lawyer? I've been quote $390. + tx for a consult and I'm concerned I'll just be told to accept the package after paying.
