My employment was recently terminated by my employer in Ontario. My employment agreement contains a termination clause that appears to limit my entitlement to the minimum requirements under the Ontario Employment Standards Act.
My employer has offered two weeks of salary, plus an additional two weeks in exchange for signing a fairly broad full and final release.
I would like to understand whether the termination clause may be enforceable as written, and whether there may be grounds to negotiate a better separation package.
I held a management-level position and had responsibility for a small team. Are there any other factors I should consider when assessing whether the proposed package is reasonable?

We need to analyze the termination clause in order to determine if it is fully compliant with the legal requirements. If it is not, you would be entitled to more than the employer's offer. Feel free to contact us at the number below to schedule an appointment with our team.
