Are employers obligated to call an ambulance if an employee is having a medical emergency? My father had a stroke while at work. When the symptoms first started to appear his supervisor just told him to sit down. They left him there alone for nearly four hours even as things got worse. Eventually, they told him to call home and get picked up. When I arrived, he was essentially incapacitated, couldn't walk, speak, and wasn't responding to my questions. Was his employer legally responsible to get him medical assistance?
