My company verbalky advised they were winding down in the next few months due to financial problems. There was no written kotice of an exact date. They have not given anyone their termination date. I have been with the company for 35 years and am 62 yrs old. But for the fact that they would be closing, I got another job and resigned. Am I still entitled to severance and termination pay?
Since they never explicitly advised you of your termination in writing, given that you resigned on your own from the company, unfortunately you would not be entitled to severance pay.
