Ask your question and an employment lawyer in Ontario, BC or Alberta will answer in minutes
My company just announced layoffs, middle management reduction, “flattening” the organization, and removing layers where it accelerates progress. Problem is the hammer hasn’t dropped and individual notifications have not gone out. Is there any benefit to consulting an employment lawyer at this time, or is it too early?
Hello,
It can definitely be beneficial to have spoken to a lawyer prior to your termination. You are often given short deadlines to respond to severance offers and, while it is possible to get an extension, if you are one of many affected, it is better to be responsive and at "the front of the line" so to speak.
Feel free to contact one of our experienced employment lawyers to discuss your options and make sure you are prepared when the time comes.
