I was given a bonus of 11k on September 17th of 2024. The document I signed says - In recognition of your efforts towards critical work and ongoing projects, you are eligible to receive a onetime bonus in the amount of $1 1 ,OOO.OO - Should you voluntarily end your employment with the Company for any reason, or should the Company terminate your employment with cause, as defined by the Employment Standards Act, within one (1 ) year of this payment. - Document does not state explicitly state that the company can deduct this amount directly from my final pay. I will be leaving my current job on July 9th. I would like to understand if the company can withhold my outstanding pay (regular + vacation). And do I have any recourse from paying the fill amount back. I would happily pay a pro-rated amount back.

To provide an accurate answer to your question, one of our employment lawyers will need to fully review the terms of the contract. We encourage you to schedule a consultation with us at your earliest convenience.
