Add Comment Question: I was taken in to speak to HR for an investigation. I am now on sick leave and got a letter from them today that I don't understand. I believe they are saying that if I don't go back on the date of the note even with a doctors note, they can terminate me. They basically want me to change my work hours to start an hour later however the others in my department don't need to change hours. I feel like this is an unnecessary punishment (lack of better word). The hours I do know, work well for me for work/life balance and they denied my question to keep my hours. Along with this and other health issues, I am beside myself and don't know what to do. I will add I am 62 and they want me to fill out a Funcional Needs Test which I don't need and another mental health form from my doctor to which I don't think is their business or legal. Thank you. Answer: Thank you for your question. We would need to see the doctor's note and the communication from your employer to properly advise you on this issue. You have a right to medical accommodation, and if your employer is refusing to do that it could be a human rights violation. However, before taking any action it is strongly recommended that you contact us at the number below for a consultation.
