Add Comment Question: I have been working for the same company since 2017. I was hired as a daycare supervisor and was that position until 2022 when I moved into a book keeping position which I only work 10 hours a week. We do have contracts but they are renewed year after year and I have been working continuous. I just found out verbally that they will not be renewing my contract come September. Am entitled to termination pay? When does the pay start as of now when they verbally told me or when my contract end date is up? Answer: Your entitlement to severance pay depends on the terms of your contract. However, you may have an entitlement to severance assessed on a start date of 2017 if you have received several fixed-term contracts since then. However, your move to the bookkeeping position may impact this. If you would like us to review your contract to assess your potential entitlement, please reach out to us at the number below.
