Add Comment Question: I have been on LTD in Ontario for almost 2 years. I am approved for both LTD and CPP disability until 65. My employer decided to terminate my health benefits (applicable to all employees on LTD). I do pay a monthly portion of the costs. Do I have any recourse in this, I have no other access to health benefits. Answer: Your employer would be able to terminate your benefits only if your are permanently disabled and your employment is terminated due to a “frustration of contract”, in which case you may be owed severance as well. I would encourage you to give us a call at the number below to speak with one of our lawyers who specialize in both employment and ltd law.
