Hi All,

I have received an offer, and my new employer is asking for previous Record of employment (ROE)? Is it mandatory to submit them? In place of that I have given my previous employers employment letter confirming Job title, job duties, location, salary and hours worked, and I have given them the contact details to contact and verify my previous employers.

Will this be sufficient. Thanks

Hello,

Employers do not have access to your ROEs from previous jobs unless you share them. An ROE may disclose the reason for your termination and would also give the new employer a sense of how much you earned.

There is no legal requirement that you share your ROE. The decision to do so is yours alone, knowing that you may not get the position unless you provide it.
