As a result of an internal re-organization, my current title/role has been deemed as no longer valid and has to change. I am being asked to consider a new role(duties) & title. Compensation likely to be the same. Position as described at the moment somewhat different from my current position though being positioned at the same seniority level - however debatable and under discussion. Do I have to accept all the role and duties as described? What are things I should question? What happens if I cannot reach an agreement? What are my rights? There are going to be layoffs in the near future, thus potential excess responsibilities or expectations may happen. For example, there may be new on-call policies or voluntary overtime duties, or surreal expectation of performance. Wondering if refusal of such would result in termination with cause(disobedient), which disqualifies me from getting EI? And how to prepare for such case if it occurs? And am I in the position to refuse to sign any contracts if there are any new policy documents? My wife has worked for her employer for over 10 years. She recently went back to work after her 2nd maternity leave and was not given her previous job responsibilities back in full. She has had access permissions removed and her boss seems to be trying to make her want to quit on her own so he doesn't have to fire her. Should she speak to someone about what she would be entitled to if she quits?I began working for a law firm in Toronto beginning of Nov 2015 and made my 3 month probation beginning of Feb 2016. I was hospitalized end of Feb 2016 for 2 weeks and was diagnosed with MS. I’ve been on LTD since (I’m only getting 60% of my wages and am struggling financially). My old position is no longer available. If I hand in my resignation, do they have to pay me for the past 9 years of accrued vacation pay (I started with 4 weeks vacation, and after 5 years I believe I would have gotten another week of paid vacation time)? My company has lost its major client and I as well as hundreds of employees are being terminated. I have been with the company for7 years and am being offered 1 week per year. Is that the norm in Ontario or is their potential for more? Previous Next Page 97 of 1631
