Days on are usually spent "on call" and I must be able to report to the airport in 2 hours. The company claims that days "on call" are not considered "work" and are not subject to additional statutory holiday pay. Since my flying schedule is random, my position is that I'm being paid to be available to fly rather than being paid to fly. Therefore, being available to fly IS my work. Any thoughts on that? Recently, the company unilaterally changed my schedule from 10-on/5-off to 14-on/3-off without additional pay. I have told them that I do not agree or accept this change. Can this be considered constructive dismissal? Thanks!I work for a company (clinic in Ottawa) and have been harassed by management and have had my employment duties changed a number of times. I am a nurse by profession and such is my job. I have been told that I have to do patient intakes and feel that this does not fall within my professional abilities. Furthermore, I had a recent viral illness and my boss (a physician) sent me a requisition for blood tests that had a huge amount of tests listed on it and was telling me to go get these done. Those results would then go to my boss which is problematic. I have also been due to get access to health benefits since it is over 6 months that I am employed and each time I ask about it they give me an excuse and do not give me access to these benefits as outlined in the contract. I have been told I need to see new patients from CRDS in Quebec while working in Ontario (I have both Ontario and Quebec nurse license) even though those patients are supposed to be seen by a doctor. For those same CRDS patients I have been told that I am responsible for booking their follow-ups and tests which is an administrative task and was not written as part of my job in my contract. I find that the practices in this workplace are borderline illegal and I worry for my professional safety working there. I have tried to look for other employment but am staying there since I need employment until I can find a suitable alternative. Please advise on if I would qualify for Constructive Dismissal or otherwise as I am not sure what to do at this point and find my workplace to be an unsafe place and feel harassed and micromanaged by management.I've worked for a large Insurance/Investment company for 20 years supporting various advisors. We worked in branch offices located within a reasonable commuting distance of where we live. We have now been moved to a Managing General Agency (MGA) owned by the insurance company. The office location has changed and we are asked to commute to city outside Toronto/Picering area which is an hour 1/2 commute there and back from where I live. The new job also has some changes from what been doing. This involves learning new systems in order to work for the MGA. I would like to retire soon but I want a good severance package not to just retire and take what they give me. Can you advise on this?I was hired for a position. And myself and the manager signed the offer letter Then a few days later he sent an email saying he had to rescind the offer. Is that legal for them to do?Im I owed waiting time pay from my employers for not receiving my final check the day i was terminated Previous Next Page 85 of 1630
