I'm concerned that I'm going to fall into a crack where I can't claim disability because it's hard to prove I can't work and I'm fired for being unable to work. Or maybe it will be blown off as "old age" rather than a disability. I've worked as a software developer for decades and have been with my employer (major tech firm) for more than 10 years. My ability to program declined slowly and then suddenly. I have an appt with my doctor seeking treatment/diagnosis but don't know what to do about work in the meantime. It's awkward to keep going to the office but not be able to be productive. Seek STD or LTD leave?A colleague who is male speaks down to me, insinuates I am not doing my job properly and makes me feel very uncomfortable in meetings and phone conversations with his comments and the way he speaks to me. In a recent video internal meeting with this colleague, he recorded the meeting. He was rude, made a derogatory comment and said I was not doing my job properly (it's not the way he wanted it done) I told him his behaviour was inappropriate and I ended the call immediately. He contacted my manager and launched a compliant. The video meeting that was recorded has restricted access which i do not have access to. I requested access 4 times over the span of one week. The colleague refused to grant access. What are my rights here?Im still working for the time being but it looks like the writings on the wall. Ive been Health and Safety rep for the past 20+ years in the company on and off. New management comes in and wants things done differently that is illegal and put fellow Co-workers workers in harms way. I refused the new changes and said to the new management that the changes are against the health and Safety code for Ontario. A few days later I relinquished my position as Health and Safety co-chair officer and now I have a target on my back. I was brought into a meeting and repremanded for saying illegal actions were being done. New management has been telling people that Oct 1st people are getting fired and everyone's on eggshells. Is this a chargeable offense against the company?I have been terminated verbally after I told my employer I was pregnant. He took the rest of the day after the call and ignored me and then sent an email telling me I was not terminated and expected to continue working. What do I do?I was let go from my job yesterday without cause. They have offered me a severance above what is owed if I sign a release. The way it is worded, makes it sound like I cannot claim EI if I accept it. Previous Next Page 75 of 1630
