I am a software engineer and have informed my company that I have a medical issue that will possibly hinder my performance some 2 months ago. I have provided them with a note from my doctor (a BC general practitioner) stating which accomodations I need in order to be able to perform at my usual level (just starting at 11 instead of 9 as my illness has a diurnal cycle). I haven't even used those acommodations due to the fear of our client, with whom I work with on a daily basis, because I was afraid they would complain to the company. The client has given a negative review last week based solely on my comunication style, my technical skills were not reviewed in a negative manner. I have records of all the written communications, and I (subjectively) can claim that my communication always courteous and professional. My fear is that I am being dicriminated by the client, who was aware that I have some medical stuff going on, and that if I'm taken of this particular project I will soon be out of work because the company is not doing well and there are no other projects that the company could place me on. What are my rights in this situation. My condition has significantly worsened since that review due to increased stressI’ve been working with a company for just over 14 years. Three years ago the company was purchased by a new doctor. They had us sign contracts stating that our time worked in the company will now only count since their purchase and not the whole time we have been at the company. The staff were never fired and then rehired during the purchase, so I am wondering how binding is the contract as far as ESA Laws go towards the 14 years being there as I have recently been given “Working notice - Notice of termination without cause” from October 2, 2025 till November 27, 2025. Is it standard practice to also make someone work that length of time instead of paying severance? Thank youWorked for union company for 40 years, been on LTD For the last 6 years .All employees received bonuses, still on seniority list but HR Told I was not a active employeeHello, we were hired as superintendents in 2006 with $30k /per couple yearly salary. Very primitive employment letter was offered with limited duty description. As an immigrant we had very little knowledge of how proper employment letter should look like. T4 always shows combination of salary, bonuses paid for cleaning, bonus for rent of the apartments, in the past we worked Stat holidays without extra pay, etc. Just received a letter informing us about our last day due to "your decision to retire/resign", we did not resign or offered to leave. After almost 20 years of employment (june 2026 will be 20 years) - no severance package info given, just bye bye as of Oct 1/2026 . Lots of questionsOur company is forcing mandatory 2 days unpaid time off for NUEE in certain pay bands, not all pay bands. We will also need to buy back our pension plan. I am paid annual salary. I have been with this company almost 18 years and have never had this happen before. We were told that it is for cost savings, however, they just gave us a raise in Sept, a month ago. Is this something they are allowed to do? Previous Next Page 69 of 1630
