Recently, I was hearing that I might be moved to the one perpetrators team. I expressed concerns multiple times to HR and to my leaders. My HR business partner even asked me to forgive the individual. All of this was ignored and I was told recently not only would I be moving to his team, but that my job title would be changing to match his and therefore id need to job shadow him. Under Alberta employment law, is it possible for an employer to avoid paying severance by providing extended working notice like that?Hello, My question is whether an employer reserves the right to terminate group LTD benefits without much communication of such to employees. I am currently on sick leave and needing to be off longer, I was under the impression (and have underwriting confirmation from Sunlife) that I had LTD, but have been told it was changed 2 years ago at which time they did change extended health benefits and that was clearly communicated. Sunlife will not confirm or deny anything and keeps telling me to contact my employer HR benefits team. I am a non unionized hospital worker. Does this seem reasonable? Currently on an 18 month maternity leave ending 2026. In February 2025 my department closed. I was told upon my return id return to a similar role. October 2025 they call me and let me know that there is a new role I can apply to if id like to end my leave early. I feel they are doing this because they dont actually have a position for me in a comparable roll. That being said what happens if I decline applying? What happens if I apply and dont get the job?
