I was let go after working for a company for 2 years. In the termination letter, I was provided with a severance package based on 2 years of service. It does not consider the 14 years of continued service that I had at a previous company which I left in order to join the new one. I am 52, female, work in telecom management. Is there ground to request for more severance?

Thank you for your question. My name is Jon Pinkus and I am an employment lawyer with Samfiru Tumarkin LLP.

Based on what you described, you could be entitled to much more severance on the grounds of inducement from prior employment. But I would need to know more details first. I would recommend that you email me at jon.pinkus@stlawyers.ca so that we can set up a consultation as soon as possible.
