I have worked as a teacher part time for 11 & a half years at the college of massage & hydro therapy in Cambridge. Approximately 15 hrs per week. We got an email last wednesday morning saying the school was permanently shut down effective immediately. Am I entitled to severance pay?

Employees are owed notice or pay in lieu of notice, as well as severance pay where applicable, even when a company goes out of business, so long as that company does not go into bankruptcy or receivership.

We suggest you contact our firm to set up a consultation with a lawyer to discuss the details of your case further.
