I have worked for a company for 20 years last Thursday I was informed the company has been soldeffective Monday and I will be retained by the New owner under my current job description am I entitled to severance. I don't have confidence in the New owner.we are also required to provide at our expense an updated criminal reference check and medical clearance.

Thanks for your question. Your employment should continue with the new owner without any changes to your previous terms of employment. In addition, all previous service with the previous owner would continue to apply. It is very important that you do not sign any new employment agreement or other documents until you receive legal advice. Call us at the number below to discuss your situation in further detail with a lawyer. We would be happy to help you in any way that we can.
