I worked for the same company for 19 years, in Toronto. This company is convicted of criminal negligence..and more civil case coming fraud. They want to sell this company to other shareholders. My question is, Should they pay us first the severance pay before they can transfer ownership. Is that allowed by Law what they do right now. I hope you can answere me. Thanks

I would recommend setting up an appointment with a lawyer to discuss your potential entitlements, as it depends on the type of sale (i.e. asset or share purchase) and what your employment contract states with respect to the assignment of your contract.
