I work for a US firm in Sales, they have asked for a drug screening test, in the email if I don t agree it is a breach of policy and act as my termination. Is this possible in Canada? They also want me to sign a document to have a criminal and credit check by a US firm, the documents asks for SIN number and can be shared with 3rd parties? Should I agree?
In Canada, in most industries you cannot be forced to take a drug test for no reason. I would also hesitate to provide a SIN number as this can be used to steal your identity. why don't you suggest that you will provide them with your own criminal records and credit check as you can do this yourself.
