Note, your name, city and email is not displayed on the website. It is used to notify you that we have answered your question.

I have been temporarily laid off, I have found and taken a new job, do I need to give my employer notice?

Thank you for your question. Unless your contract of employment specifically state that your employer can lay you off, a layoff would be considered a termination. Any new income you earn from another job would just offset the damages they already owe you. If you can email me directly at melanie.henriques@stlawyers.ca for a further consultation.
