I got laid off due to lack of work I’ve been with the company for 3 years how much severance am I entitled to there giving me 3 weeks pay is this correct

Thank you for your inquiry. I have copied for you below a link to our Severance Pay Calculator which can provide you with an estimate of what you might be owed. Your minimums under the Ontario Employment Standards Act (ESA) would be 3 weeks of notice or pay in lieu of notice, however, in most cases employees are entitled to more than their statutory minimums under the common law. You should always speak with an employment lawyer prior to accepting the company's severance offer. I recommend you contact our firm to schedule a consult with one of our employment lawyers to we can review and discuss your termination entitlements.
