Would any future severance be impacted if I was to get another job, during my lay off?

If you get another job during your layoff and accept that job, you will be considered to have resigned from your current employer and not entitled to severance.

However, if you have never been laid off before and there is no contractual provision in your contract allowing for a temporary layoff, you might be entitled to loss of compensation for the period of time from the layoff date to the date you started new employment. As this is your third online question, I highly recommend you contact the number below to speak further with one of our employment lawyers so we can more thoroughly address any other inquiries you might have.
