My employment contract specifies that in the event of termination without cause I would be paid severance of 55 weeks maximum. Am I correct to assume that even if I qualify for more according to the severance calculator, 55 weeks is all the company is obligated to pay?

I strongly recommend you contact us to review the termination clause in your contract in order to determine if it successfully limits your entitlements. Very few termination clauses are properly drafted and most of them have deficiencies that render them invalid, in which case you are entitled to more severance than the formula in the termination clause provides for.
