My employer terminated me while I was on medical leave with a note from my doctor. Is this legal?

If your employment was terminated because you have medical issues and required a medical leave of absence, then this is a violation of the Ontario Human Rights Code. Therefore, not only would you be entitled to severance, but potentially human rights damages as well.
