I have been let go due to downsizing from our economic situation. I have been offered one chunk of severance and a second chunk in August. However it seems the second chunk has limitations on it is this allowed?

Thank you for writing to us. Prior to agreeing to the severance offer, it is important that you ensure it is fair. To see what you are owed, I would encourage you to visit the severance pay calculator our firm has developed (www.SeverancePayCalculator.com). Also, it is important to note that the "limitation" or "deadline" on the offer you have been provided is nonsense. Legally, you have two years from the date of your dismissal in which to file a claim. I would strongly encourage that you call us and book a call with one of our employment lawyers who will fully review the matter with you.
