Hi there, I am a contract salesperson. I carry several lines. The company that is the main source of income has threatened to let me go if sales do not increase. They are giving 6 months. I have been with this company for 6 years. I have no written contract but it is obvious I work for them based on my T4. If I am terminated what are my options from a severance standpoint. Thank You.

Thank you for your question. Barring some sort of significant performance or conduct issue, in the event that you are let go, you would be owed severance based upon your age, position and years of service. Feel free to use our Ontario Severance Pay Calculator (www.severancepaycalculator.com) to find out how much you may be owed. Feel free to also give us a call at the number below to discuss your situation in more detail.
