My company owns multiple businesses. I have worked for the parent company for 8 years. I am now being told (not asked) that I have to take on responsibilities at one of their other companies but maintain my duties and work load at the parent company without any talk of monetary increase.

My name is David Vaughan and I'm an employment lawyer with Samfiru Tumarkin. A significant change and/or increase in duties can amount to a constructive dismissal. Generally, the first step in responding to a situation like this is to object to the additional duties and ask your employer not to implement the changes. I recommend that you contact our firm to discuss the matter in more detail and determine whether we can assist you navigate this process.
