Are there any benefits or disadvantages for a 63-year-old employee currently on long-term disability (LTD) in Ontario from taking an enhanced Voluntary Separation Package, which is being offered to many unionized employees at once?

There may be a number of benefits and/or drawbacks to such an offer. As a unionized employee, it is important that you speak with your union representative and the union's legal counsel to discuss those various pros and cons. One of the drawbacks, for example, may be that any severance you receive from your employer will reduce your disability benefits payments dollar for dollar during the severance period. Do make sure that you speak with your union before accepting or declining such an offer.
