Now that I am 65 yeard old and after working with a company for 17 years does the employer have the right to ask me for a specific retirement date?

Thank you for your question.

No, your employer does not have a right to ask you to retire. Mandatory retirement has been illegal in Ontario for many years and against the human rights code.

If your employer begins to pressure you to retire by a certain date, please let us know.
